Alleged unfit mother involve her kids in HOT PURSUIT

An alleged unfit Jacksonville mother is accused of taking police on a high-speed pursuit down Piney Green Road with an open container and three small children.

Warrants say Jelissa Haynes, 30, of Terry Lane in Jacksonville was charged with fleeing eluding, resisting an officer, open container, driving while impaired, speeding and three counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Haynes allegedly attempted to u-turn at Piney Green and Terry Road Thursday afternoon then ignoring an Onslow County Sheriff’s deputy command to stop. Haynes vehicle allegedly reached the speeds of 90 mph, according to warrants.

Haynes is out of the Onslow County Jail on a $12,500 bond.

Haynes is free on a $12,500 bond.

Haynes next court date is May 3, according to court documents. She intends to hire her own attorney.
