A Jacksonville ‘animal killer’ has been charged with killing a beagle and a hound dog.
‘Animal Killer’ Chloe Elizabeth Popkin, 20, of Myna Drive in Jacksonville was charged and arrested by the Onslow County Animal Control on Jan. 3 and charged with two counts of felony killing an animal by starvation.
On May 13, 2017, Popkins allegedly failed to provide adequate water to her tri-colored female beagle-mix and to her tri-colored male hound dog, according to warrants.
Popkin had her first court appeareance on Monday, Jan. 8 before District Court Judge Paul Hardison. Popkin told the court Monday that she would retain counsel before her next court date scheduled for Jan 29. She is out on a $10,000 bond.
