A Jacksonville woman lost nearly $2600.00 after being scammed by Flooring Designs, located at 1109 Gum Branch Rd., which was reported and permanently closed.
The couple contacted the owner, Mark Holbrooks mother-in-law Brenda, who was helping them through the ordering process but were not able to reach her. Moore, as well as her husband, have continuously attempted to contact the company to no avail.
“I have emailed asking about the flooring. We both have went by the store numerous times and it has been closed all during business hours,” Moore said.
On March 19, she went to 1109 Gum Branch Rd. a final time and saw a closed for inventory sign on the door.
Moore said no one from the company has even tried to get in contact with her and the vinyl floor has not been delivered. Due to the circumstances, the Moore’s filed a police report and a complaint about the company to both the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.
After further investigation into Flooring Design’s business dealings, News In Onslow discovered that Moore and her husband are 2 out of an alleged 25 other customers who Mark Holbrook and Flooring Design’s have scammed out of their hard earned money.
Holbrooks company has also received several complaints on the Better Business Bureau website:
