Dixon HS Student accused of nearly knocking out 6 school employees with a ‘weight rack’

An Onslow 18-year-old Dixon High School student will face serious charges including assault on school employees after he allegedly nearly knocked out 6 Onslow County School employees with a ‘weight rack’.

18-year-old Durvell Walker, of Maple Hill, North Carolina was allegedly carrying a weapon when school officials tried to search his backpack. Officials say that’s when Walker swung a weight rack at his Principal Steven Clarke and five other employees. Officials say Walker School Resource Officer pepper-sprayed him and Walker allegedly fought the officer. According to Walker’s warrants, he allegedly hit each employee in the process.

Onslow County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that a knife was found on Walker and he faces misdemeanors charges: carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon on school property, assault on a government official, six counts of assault on a school employee and resisting obstruction and delay of a law enforcement officer.

As of Tuesday afternoon, he is being held on a $9,000 bond and remains in the Onslow County Jail, according to VineLink.

Where is this child parents or guardians and why hasn’t anyone come and get him out of jail?
