The live-in boyfriend of Mariah Woods mother, Krysti Kay Woods is scheduled to have his first court appearance in court Tomorrow, Monday, Dec. 4.
Earl Kimrey, 32, of Jacksonville charged with Obstruction of Justice, Conceal of Death, Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, and Possession of Stolen Goods, is due in court Monday at 9:00 a.m. Kimrey will be addressed on Obstruction of Justice charging, accused of removing Mariah’s body from the scene of her death, concealing her death by “secretly disposing of her body,” and knowing that she died from unnatural causes.
WHAT IS A FIRST COURT APPEARANCE:
–To prevent the police from holding arrestees too long before informing them of the prosecutor’s charges and their constitutional rights. The defendant will hear the charges against he/she, learn of their right to counsel and respond to the judge’s questions as to whether they will hire counsel (or need the public defender), and make a pitch for a lower bail. The judge may also set dates for further appearances, and if considering bail (or release on the defendant’s “own recognizance”), set conditions for release.
Kimery is in the Onslow County Jail under a $1,010,000.00 bond.
