The man killed in a single-car accident Friday night has been identified.
Christmas just ain’t Christmas without the one you love. One family is mourning the loss of their loved one after he was killed in a single-car accident in the Southwest area of Jacksonville Friday night.
23-year-old Antonio Delvalle Jr., of Jacksonville, died at the scene of the wreck around 8:30 p.m. on Harris Creek Road near Holly Shelter Road, according to N.C. Highway Patrolman Sean Spring.
Officials say Delvalle was traveling north of Harrist Creek Road when he ran off the road, struck a small brink fence and then struck a tree in his 2002 Ford Explorer. The main impact of the accident was on Delvalle’s side of the vehicle.
He was accompanied by Samantha Moore, 26, of Hubert and her 8-year-old son. She was in the front passenger seat and her son was in the back left seat of the vehicle.
All occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
Springs said Delvalle was driving the speed limit but alcohol was a contributing factor in the wreck.
