One Jacksonville man is being accused of assaulting a woman and strangling her in the presence of a child.
Millard Lewis Sailor, 29, is Kodiak Court in Jacksonville remains in the Onslow County Jail Thursday morning. Jacksonville Police Department arrested Sailor on Jan. 14 and charged him with assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon in the presence of a minor, false imprisonment, interfering with emergency communications, communicating threats and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
A disturbance call at the Triangle Motor Inn on Jan. 12 around 10:15 p.m., left a woman with bruises and scratch marks on her neck. She was also allegedly assaulted with a glass liquor bottle in the presence of a five-year-old, according to warrants.
Sailor appeared before District Court Judge Paul Harrison on Jan. 16 where he was assigned Trey Carter as his court-appointed attorney. Hardison raised Sailor’s bond from $7,500 to $20,000 and scheduled his next appearance for Feb. 6.Sailor remains in custody in the Onslow County Jail, according to Vinelink.
