If you received a tsunami warning Tuesday morning in Onslow County, don’t worry. Although the alert sent out by The National Weather Service appeared to be real, it was only a test.
The National Weather Service issued the tsunami warning around 8:31 a.m. The message was sent to many states, including North Carolina. Weather apps of all kinds sent the alert as a “push notification” that read (TSUNAMI WARNING), but didn’t state it was a test.
Some say when they opened the message it became clear that it was only a test and for some it didn’t.
