Richlands man accused of selling stolen vehicle to savage yard

A man who was already behind bars has been served with new warrants after he allegedly sold a stolen car to a salvage yard.

Police say Steven Allen Malpass was served with additional charges recently. Deputies with the OCSO responded to a residence on Gregory Fork Road in Richlands for a report of a stolen vehicle. The ongoing investigation against Malpass revealed that he called a tow company to deliver the stolen car to the salvage yard to be sold for scrap. Malpass, is now facing the following additional charges along with drug charges:

  1. Misdemeanor Larceny of Motor Vehicle
  2. Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods
  3. Misdemeanor Conspiracy

He remains in the Onslow County Jail and an additional $6,500 has been added to his secure bond.
