Sheriff Hans Miller say OCSO are “reviewing missing person reports”

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Department is “reviewing missing person reports.”

Sheriff Hans Miller has confirmed that the Onslow County Sheriff’s Department is now “reviewing missing person reports,” after a group of teenagers found a partially decomposed body of a white female December 31, 2017, near the end of Thomas Humphrey Road. The autopsy on the body of the female has been conducted by the Medical Examiner’s office and according to Sheriff Miller, he is awaiting those results before releasing any additional information.

Earlier today, we published a story in connection with this story as one local family believes that this found body is 22-year-old Shelby Brown. Officials have not confirmed the identity of the body that was found but the Onslow County Sheriff’s Department was in contact with Brown’s mother, Wendy Millis asking her to bring in Brown’s hairbrush and toothbrush.

Sheriff Hans Miller said this case is being handled as a homicide.
