The search for Mariah Kay Woods is still underway after officials at a press conference Wednesday afternoon confirmed that she is still missing.
“At this point, priority number one is finding Mariah,” said Senior Resident Federal Bereau of Investigation agent Stanley Meador.
Mariah Kay Woods was reported missing Monday morning after her mother, Kristy Kay Hunter say she wasn’t in her bedroom early Monday morning.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureua of Investigation are calling this case a “Focused Incident.”
Residents in the Southwest area and Verona area are asked to search their properties as a way to help find baby Mariah.
Officials release few details as it relates to efforts behind the scenes to find Mariah.
Sheriff Hans Miller read off a prepared statement, saying hundreds of acres have been searched with dogs, ground Units, and air. More than 15 local, state, and federal agencies assisting in the case.
Miller says 100 interviews have been conducted, and more than 140 leads have came in.
200+ investigators are working this case around the clock.
“The goal is to find Mariah,” Sheriff Hans Miller said in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.
Miller also said the mother and a child seen in a Morehead, NC Wal-Mart photo, who was believed to be Mariah Woods is not associated with the family.
“The public is not in danger at this point,” Miller said.
Members of the community will wear pink Thursday in honor of Mariah Kay Woods.
