Andrew Thomas Yopp, 26, of Sneads Ferry who is currently employed at his family’s business, “Yopp Brothers Marine and Tackle” in Sneads Ferry was arrested by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office on February 27, 2018, at 4:45 p.m. and released on February 27, 2018, at 6:11 p.m., for what sources say involved providing alcohol to a 15-year-old child and attempting to engage, or actually engaging in sexual acts. More shocking, however, is that Yopp spent less than an hour and a half in the county detention center and was awarded a bizarre secured bond of only $5,000.
Yopp’s mugshot that was initially posted on Mobile Patrol is no longer there. His court case was held in Craven County on Friday, March 2, 2018. Sources close to Yopp says they believe that the crimes Yopp is accused of committing are true. Yopp has been trending over social media since March 1st after they believe he is receiving preferential treatment taking into consideration the charges.
It’s to be believed that Yopp allegedly got the 15-year-old old drunk and took advantage of the minor.
Jennifer Whitehead on Facebook pointed out Yopp’s low bail compared to a man who bond was $25,000 for possession of marijuana, which now has over 15,000 shares.
Some claim that Yopp’s disproportionated bond stems directly from the fact that he is from a wealthy family with connections to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.
