News In Onslow have obtained the exclusive warrants that alleges Earl Kimrey murdering 3-year-old Mariah Woods.
Earl Kimrey,32, is facing first-degree Murder and felony child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury/death. According to an autopsy, Mariah Woods died from chloroform toxicity.
Sheriff Hans Miller did not further discuss how Mariah died. According to the press release, officials knew Kimrey killed Mariah but waited on the toxicology report to officially charge him with her murder.
Acute inhalation to chloroform can cause central nervous system depression, and at very high levels may result in death. Baby Mariah was reported missing from her Dawson Cabin Road home on November 27, 2017, by Kimrey according to officials.
Kristy Hunter, Mariah’s mom has gone to sleep and Mariah got up and Kimrey told her to go back to bed, according to his statement to investigators. Kimrey claimed he left the home for a period of time with the door unlocked. An extensive search for Mariah lasting several days, resulted in her body being found near a bridge across from Holly Shelter Creek in Pender County, NC. Kimrey is originally charged with obstruction of justice, conceal an unattended death, possession of stolen goods, second degree burglary and larceny after breaking and entering.
He is in the Onslow County Jail without a bond and a first court appearance on the murder charges that came today is scheduled for 2:30PM Wednesday.
